In Dinaverke, near the river and the woods,
There are Jews from all over the world.
They all are working hard out in the frost.
It’s still dark outside,
The bell is calling to work.
Rows of people are lining up,
The wind is whispering.
The Jews are accused of someone else’s sins.
The day passes by swiftly.
The sun has long set.
They return together slowly.
They are tired
After a long workday.
But, fellow Jews, cheer up,
The time will yet come,
And we shall work for ourselves in our own country.
One of my favourite musical discoveries in a while. These musicians are seriously talented. I can’t help imagining that there would have been a whole significant subculture of Yiddish psych rock like this in a different, kinder universe. For now, this is a window into that world that might have been. And I love every second of it. Audrey
Raw black metal that brooks no compromises, this has all the ferocious guitars, lo-fi aesthetics and infernal howling you crave. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 30, 2023
Led by klezmer phenom David Krakauer, this collaborative LP develops international sounds into an celebration of our common humanity. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 2, 2022
Short and sweet, this EP beautifully demonstrates the virtuosity of the musicians while giving the Klezmer world pieces rarely heard in the Klezmer's repertoire. The Freylakhs will make you dance and the Doina's will make you cry. rj_reid
